In order to facilitate growth in the Tourism industry, SLTDA has teamed up with the government and private and foreign sectors in order to draw investment and further development.
The traditional product life cycle theory indicates that typically a product will have a s-curve with stages of growth, maturity, saturation and decline in sales and profits. This theoretical model seems to hold true also for tourist products, which means that the question of product development and new- product innovations is important in tourism companies.
Ramayanaya
|
For over thousands of years, the Ramayana, epic of Asia, has had an unshakeable hold on the beliefs of vast multitudes of Asia's teeming millions. As diverse span of humanity as Kashmiri pandits and Cambodian fishermen, it is the universal heritage of all humanity.
Emerging from the mists of the forested banks of India's northernmost rivers, the crown jewel of a rich oral tradition, the song of Valmiki has become a pillar of principles, a symbol of the victory of good over evil, and a metaphor for the battle between the forces of light and darkness within every human soul.

Narambamu Sri Lanka
The Narambamu Sri Lanka initiative was launched in September 2008 as a means of promoting domestic tourism by creating awareness for lesser know attractions and forgotten folklore. On a long term perspective, the awareness created among domestic travellers is expected to spur interest among overseas travellers as well. In line with this thinking, a 360 degree campaign was launched as the first phase of the project, covering print, tv, radio and internet mediums.
The second phase will involve more hands on and grass root level activation involving local community and schools participation. In addition, an editorial initiative will also be launched, giving readers an opportunity to discover lesser known attractions across Sri Lanka and even contribute towards the initiative with their own stories, places of interest and attractions.
