A restaurant prepares and serves food and drink to customers. Meals are generally served and consumed, in-house although a take-away and delivery service could also be available. Restaurants vary in appearance and offerings. A wide variety of cuisines and service models are offered.

Guests could be served by waiters or obtain their food from the counter or serve in buffet style.
