Police Tourist Division was created on 01.06.2007 by the Police department of Sri Lanka in order to assist and protect tourists visiting this beautiful Island.

The vision of this Division is to create a hassle free, secured and memorable experience to all tourists within the Sri Lankan soil. There are friendly and professional group of men & women attached to this Unit who are specially trained .by the Police Department to collect Intelligence, Informations and to do Surveillance, Investigations and Prosecution for the purpose of preventing and minimizing the crime & harassments against tourists.

Police Tourist Division is presently located at No. 80, Galle Road, Colombo 03 and connected with a short code Telephone number 1912 for any emergency. In addition to the above main unit in Colombo there are few units located in the following tourists resort areas.
