A guest house is a kind of lodging. In some parts of the world a guest house is similar to a hotel or bed and breakfast. In other parts of the world guest houses are the only kind of accommodation available for visitors with no local relatives. A Guest House in Sri Lanka is an accommodation unit with 05 or more letting bedrooms. |
It often caters to FITs and is prized low in comparison to hotels, primarily due to the limited facilities offered. A guest house on the other hand will have limited staff presence. Because of the limited staff presence check-in is often by appointment. |
