Director Finance

Mr. Nandana Dissanayake

Mr. Nandana Dissanayake was appointed Director Finance of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) in May 2009. Previously, Nandana worked in the Financial Management field for more than 10 years, in Sri Lanka and abroad. He has also been working as a resource person with the Regional Economic Development Agency. Nandana obtained his Bachelors Degree in Management, with a specialization in Financial Management, from the University of Colombo. He received a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Cranfield Business School (United Kingdom) and subsequently his MBA in Financial Management from the University of Queensland (Australia).

In addition to his academic degrees, Nandana received Certifications in Project Management and Information Systems Audit and an Advanced Certificate in ISO9000 Quality Systems. He was also a Finalist from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (UK) and is a Member of the Institute of Project Managers (USA), Institute of Internal Auditors (USA), and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (USA).

As Director Finance, Nandana manages and supervises the Financial Management Division of the SLTDA. The Financial Management Division is responsible for managing all financial affairs of the SLTDA, including financial supervision of the SLTDA resorts (5), guesthouses (36), and various development projects. The Division also issues monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

In addition, a key objective of the Division, under the direction of the Director Finance, is to manage the Tourism Development Fund (TDF). This includes auditing financial statements of the tourism establishments registered with the SLTDA to ensure accurate payment of the Tourism Development Levy.

The Division is further charged with accurately identifying TDL by each licensed establishment as well as disbursing funds as per the Act. The Division prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements of the TDF.
